5. Showdown: After all the betting has ended, the dealer deals one last card to anyone in the hand. The winner of the pot is determined by the highest poker hand.
6. Bluff: The use of bluffing in poker is a great way to improve your chances of winning the pot. By bluffing other players, you can make them think you have a high hand, when in fact you may have a weak one.
7. Position: The most common way to play poker is in the “button” or dealer’s position. This is the position to the left of the dealer and the first betting round begins in this position.
The player with the button is called the “dealer”. This person starts the deal and passes it to the player on his left.
If the player to his right has a pocket pair, he can also raise the pot, if he hasn’t already. This can be a good strategy, as it makes others think they have a low hand.
A pocket pair of kings or queens is considered the best possible hand. It is important not to get too attached to this type of hand, as an ace on the flop can spell disaster for these hands.
